Professor Connett's lecture at The Eden Project was organised by Charles Hall from Camel Area Friends of The Earth.
The Eden lecture was based on a recent presentation by Professor Connett to the United Nations Division on Sustainable Development. Professor Connett was at County Hall in Truro earlier in the day when he gave the same United Nations presentation to 12 of the 14 members of the Waste Development Advisory Panel and council officers from the Waste Disposal Authority

Professor Connett is a graduate of Cambridge University and holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry. From 1983 to 2006 he taught chemistry at St Lawrence University in Canton, NY where he specialised in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology. Over the past 25 years his research on waste management has taken him to 49 states in the US, and 52 other countries, where he has given over 2,000 pro-bono public presentations.
